Somewhere between the analog tick of keys and the digital blur of data, a sentence forms and then the ideas ignite. Writing has always been a way of cracking the surface.
That pursuit has moved through publishing, journalism, and screenwriting. From ghostwritten critiques of global systems to reflections on cinema’s legacy, from cultural reporting to translating science into story, it remains an evolving craft that seeks clarity, voice, and pattern.
This page, as writing resume and showcase, is both an archive and an ignition point. It’s a space where context, voice, and meaning converge into a writing style that mines for what is essential just beneath the surface.
1998–2002
At the National Writers Literary Agency, I worked directly with emerging authors, offering editorial guidance and pitch development support. I also represented the agency at publishing conferences, helping writers position their work for agents and publishers. This early work gave me firsthand insight into the emotional and structural terrain of writing for publication.
1998–Present
My magazine work spans science communication, business trends, and cultural journalism. At Room: The Space Journal of Asgardia, I explored animated edutainment in the age of private spaceflight. For Deli Business, I covered food industry innovation and branding. In BPM Magazine, I wrote on music culture and creative identity.
2003–2004
While studying film in New York, I worked with Walter James Miller, a renowned literary critic, poet, and English translator of Jules Verne. During the publication of The Meteor Hunt (Bison Books), I supported his research, translations, public talks and book events. That time offered a formative education in the literary possibilities of science fiction, public scholarship, and deep research.
2004
My chapter “15 Minutes to Fame: Pitching at a Conference” appears in Making the Perfect Pitch, a resource for aspiring authors navigating the publishing world. My contribution reflects early experience helping writers refine their pitch materials with clarity and voice.
2005–2015
Over a decade with Yahoo’s Contributor Network, I wrote on film, science, culture, and current events, generating millions of views and often earning featured placement. My aim was to blend accessible commentary with substance, crafting articles that traveled widely without losing depth.
2007
As a ghostwriter and contributor to Blood, Sweat and Tears by Farzin Mojtabai, I helped shape the book’s voice and structure, supporting a narrative that interrogated sweatshop labor and corporate corruption. “A special thanks to activist and author Jason Cangialosi, for his contributions to this work.” — Author Acknowledgment
2008–2010
Covered local events, restaurants, and entertainment through writing and photography during the platform’s early digital expansion.
2011–2014
As Managing Editor of Mile High Cinema, I guided the editorial vision of a site rooted in Denver’s film scene and connected to the broader independent cinema landscape. I contributed essays, interviews, and festival coverage, while also curating calendars and creating podcast content. From local premieres to Sundance, the work remained grounded in cultural connection and cinematic voice.
2012–2020
At Worker Studio, I developed original IP and educational content across animation and live-action. I scripted projects that translated complex scientific ideas into character-driven stories and contributed music and narrative design to films rooted in homage, satire, and curiosity. As a partner in the studio, my writing skills were also sharpened in proposal writing, website copy, press releases and more. Showcase: Genomics 101: The Library of You
2016–2017
Collaborating on The Ten Year Rule allowed me to return to longform narrative. The screenplay explores creativity and identity across intersecting generational arcs. Developed with Travelin’ Productions, the project reflects my continuing interest in story as a space for emotional and cultural resonance. Project Page ›
2022–Present
At Tipping Point, I write across formats, including scripts, narration, dialogue, and educational voiceovers, while also contributing as a composer and creative producer. My work spans virtual training, educational content, and narrative-driven infotainment, in addition to authoring marketing strategies and executive level reports. From historical docuseries to financial literacy campaigns, each project requires clarity, immersion, and audience empathy. Key projects: Legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers, Car Buying Basics / Home Buying Basics.
Between 2005 and 2014, I published extensively through Yahoo! Voices, Yahoo! Movies, and Yahoo! News—covering everything from cinema and media culture to science, philosophy, and social systems. My work often traced unexpected paths through subjects, finding the connective tissue between genre films and sacred myth, tech platforms and artistic freedom, or pop events and existential themes. The pieces below represent a blend of film fluency and cultural inquiry. Some reached large international audiences through front-page features. Others are smaller, stranger, and more personal, but all reflect a writing voice attuned to depth, connection, and transformation.
