I was a kid in publishing first, doing editorial work, pitch development, and learning what makes a stranger keep reading past the first paragraph. Film School and Journalism came next, with festival badges, film reviews, interviews with directors whose work mattered while I was discovering how it got made. With a byline in front of millions who never knew my name, what stuck was learning what a story needs.
Worker Studio is where the instinct became a discipline, eight years alongside Michael Hemschoot, partner first and teacher longer, building a pipeline that could carry industry recognized commercial work and original stop motion shorts in the same week, each one feeding the other. That balance became the model for everything since, including the move to Tipping Point, made together.
Tipping Point took that discipline into higher stakes, hundreds of hours of immersive training built for the Army, Navy, and Air Force, generative AI arriving somewhere in the middle as another instrument to learn. Underneath all of it, a docuseries on Black soldiers gave one family a filmed tribute at a grave that had waited a long time for one. The technology gets bigger, smarter, faster, but what it's for doesn't change.
Some of it isn't a project or title at all, except Dad making a stop motion video with JAWS action figures my kids gave me on Father's Day. No client, no deadline, but it found its way to strangers who felt something anyway. No pitch got it there and that's the part I trust most. I still change my own letters on the marquee.
